Data Deletion

At GhostView, we respect your privacy and give you full control over your data. This policy explains how you can delete data associated with your Meta/Instagram accounts or your entire GhostView account.

How to Delete Your Data

Option 1: Delete a Specific Instagram Account

If you want to remove a single Instagram account and all its associated data from GhostView:

1. Log in to your GhostView account at app.ghost-view.com

2. Navigate to Analytics in the sidebar

3. Find the Instagram account you want to remove

4. Click the Delete button (trash icon)

5. Confirm by typing the exact Instagram username

6. Click "Permanently Delete"

What gets deleted:

• Instagram account connection and access tokens

• All stored analytics data (reach, views, engagement, etc.)

• Audience demographics data (age, gender, location)

• Media insights and performance metrics

• Story insights

• Video transcripts (if any)

• Sync logs and history

Option 2: Delete Your Entire GhostView Account

If you want to delete your complete GhostView account and all associated data:

1. Log in to your GhostView account

2. Go to Settings in the sidebar

3. Scroll to "Danger Zone"

4. Click "Delete Account"

5. Confirm by typing your registered email address

6. Click "Permanently Delete My Account"

What gets deleted:

• Your GhostView user profile

• All connected Instagram accounts and their data

• All analytics, insights, and historical data

• GhostScripter chat history and conversations

• Account sharing permissions

• All OAuth tokens and credentials

Data Deletion via Email Request

If you are unable to access your account or prefer to request deletion via email:

1. Send an email to privacy@ghost-view.com

2. Use the subject line: "Data Deletion Request"

3. Include in your email:

   • The email address associated with your GhostView account

   • The Instagram username(s) you want removed (if applicable)

   • Whether you want to delete specific accounts or your entire GhostView account

We will verify your identity and process your request within 14 days.

Data Retention Exceptions

Certain data may be retained for legal or operational purposes:

• Billing records: Payment history and invoices may be retained for up to 7 years as required by tax and accounting regulations. This data will be anonymized where possible.

• Fraud prevention: If we detect fraudulent activity, relevant data may be retained to protect our service and other users.

• Legal obligations: Data may be retained if required by law, court order, or regulatory authority.

What Happens After Deletion

Once your data is deleted:

• Your data is permanently removed from our active databases

• Backups containing your data are purged within 30 days

• We cannot recover deleted data after this process is complete

• You will need to reconnect your Instagram account(s) if you return to GhostView

Meta Platform Data

When you delete your Instagram account connection from GhostView:

• We revoke access to your Instagram data via Meta's API

• All locally stored Meta-related data is permanently deleted

• This does not affect your actual Instagram or Facebook account—only the data stored in GhostView

Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated "Last Updated" date. Continued use of GhostView after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
